About Us!

Captain Mike’s is the largest and longest running sports fishing operation in the region, having been in operation for over 50 years. We currently operate seven vessels out of Castries Harbor, for sport fishing, whale and dolphin watching, snorkeling, sightseeing, and private cruises. Family run for three generations, Captain Mike’s puts its wealth of experience to good use, focusing on maintaining the highest levels of customer service and combining this with a genuine passion for sports fishing and marine activities, that means we are always on the forefront, pushing boundaries to ensure that our customers receive the best fishing or boating experience.
Our commitment to the maritime experience means that our boats are always rigorously maintained, and all our vessels and equipment meet and exceed both local and international safety requirements. Our Captains and crew are highly qualified and experienced, with a certified emergency medical responder and rescue swimmer always on board. Our boats are always fully stocked and supplied for our trips and tours. Our refreshments include a variety of soft drinks, water, beer and rum punch. Our passion for fishing means that our boats are rigged to tournament standard with Penn International and Shimano rods and reels, and a variety of artificial and fresh bait sure to delight any angler.

Fishing
Sport fishing is our passion! The urge to catch that big fish has been in our family for three generations, and we have the trophies and prizes from tournaments all over the Caribbean to prove it. In fact, we hold the island record for the largest blue marlin, a massive 940lbs! Our sport fishing fleet consists of five Bertram sport fishing boats, in our opinion the toughest, sturdiest, and safest sport fishing boats on the ocean. They range in size from 31ft to 46ft, and all are lovingly refitted and customized, featuring modern, diesel inboard engines and comfortable holding between 6 and 10 anglers each. Each boat is tournament rigged with top of the line Penn International and Shimano rigs, and a huge selection of artificial baits, which used alongside fresh bait provides the best chance at Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo and more. St. Lucia’s coastline is a fantastic area for fishing a wide variety of species. Our close drop offs and deep waters mean that you can be in world class fishing less than a mile offshore. We also offer bottom fishing, or jigging, where you can expect to catch a variety of bottom feeders including snapper, cavalli, mackerel, barracuda and jacks.

Whale & Dolphin Watching
The waters surrounding the emerald island of St. Lucia are home to a multitude of marine mammals, including Sperm Whales, Humpback Whales and Pilot Whales, as well as Spinner, Spotted, Fraser and Common Dolphins. With a knowledgeable crew and an 85% sighting average, our guests are sure to be amazed and educated, as well as receiving an excellent and informative view of St. Lucia’s coastline. Beer, water, soft drinks and rum punch are served on board, and guests are fully briefed on the types of mammals sighted, their habits, and behaviors. Passengers are encouraged to actively participate in spotting, and are giving tips on sighting whales in their natural environment. Our dedicated 60ft whale and dolphin watching boat, the 60ft “Free Willy”, accommodates up to 70 passengers comfortably for a 3.5hour tour both morning and afternoon. With a spacious upper ‘sundeck’ and a comfortable, shaded lower deck, “Free Willy” provides the perfect platform for the wonderous sights in store for our guests.

Private Cruises
Our variety of vessels allows us to customize private tours to suit all your guests needs. Ideal for group, families and couples, passengers can choose to charter a boat for a full or half day to fish, sightsee, snorkel, whale watch, wine, dine, or any combination of the above. A popular option is to fish or whale watch down the west coast towards Soufriere, where guests can stop for sightseeing and lunch, followed by a relaxed cruise back up the west coast including a stop for swimming or snorkeling, and a quick detour through Marigot Bay.
